The game's sound effects & music aren't anything spectacular either, and voice acting (along with the game's announcer) is pretty irksome for the most part. The textures and lightingĮffects are actually pretty decent, although stag e designs and character models are definitely on theīland side of things. Characters have a decent amount of strings and special moves, and at the least, there's enough content in movesets to keep most players entertained for a while.īloody Roar 2's graphics are fairly solid for a PS1 game, but still looked dated in 1999. The combo system has its moments (and there are indeed some coolĬombo possibilities involving the wall), but the system has its limits and there are some key fundamentals missing. Bloody Roar 2 is "playable" but doesn't feel nearly as responsive as other 2D and 3D fighting games of the time. While casual players can jump right in and have fun mashing buttons, BR2 leaves something to be desired from the more competitive crowd. Setup which is obviously aimed more towards the casual crowd rather than the "Rave" mode from the first game, players can now perform a super moveĬombo simply by hitting the L1 button while in Beast mode. Still, the plot is pretty laughable, boring, and I wouldn't call itĪ particularly fun or exciting play-through, but at least they showed some effort Upon pages of bland text and boring "still images". by far.īloody Roar 2 presents a semi-interesting Story Mode, which manages toįlesh out the characters a bit. Roar 2 presented the best artwork of the entire series.

Roster is definitely more well-rounded and interesting than the prequel's. Shina (the female leopard), and Busuzima (the chameleon). Rejoice, the BR1 "fail" designs were replaced with much coolerĪnimalistic combatants, including: Jenny (the bat chick), (The goofy gorilla guy), Mitsuko (the female boar lady) and Fox (the weird feminine dude). "awkward" characters from the first game have been completely removed, including: Greg Probably theīest part of about Bloody Roar 2 is that some of the more This fierce struggle shocks the world.īloody Roar 2 brings back four original characters from the original game and introduces a whopping six newcomers.
